Left Over Brats.... How about some Brat Soup!
I had a few callers today ask me for my
Brat Soup Recipe so here it is...
1 large pan
2 16 oz. cans of beer (Miller High Life)
32 oz. of water
*1 Package of Brats (Johnsonville) Par boil (skim off foam)
(Feel Free to add more or less of your favorite veggies)
1 medium onion chopped
1 small green pepper chopped
1 ½ cups of carrots chopped
2 medium potatoes chopped
½ a medium head of cabbage chopped
1 cup ketchup
¼ cu
p yellow mustard or add to taste
Season to taste with little salt, Black pepper and Jane’s Mixed up Salt.
(You may substitute Jane’s with…. A little bit of celery salt, garlic and Onion powder.) -Season to taste-
* Remove brats from soup and finish cooking on the outside grill (charcoal)
Then cut brats into bite size pieces and add back to soup.
Simmer and cover for 2 to 3 hours. Stir occasionally.
Taste even better when reheated the next day.
Enjoy!
